Without further ado, let's take a look at the winner...

Winner

Joshua Abalos

This portfolio by Joshua Abalos showcases the video creator's artistic flair through subtle use of animation that flows throughout the entire site. This use of animation both echoes and compliments the content of the site (video) which is also in motion, creating an environment and experience that truly encapsulates Abalos' work.

As well as this, the choice of color, typography, and composition remains simple yet bold so as not to overpower the content of the site, but coming together to illustrate Abalos' style and personality.

Vev projects with special mention

We received so many beautiful submissions, so here are a few more of our favorites.

Schibsted Partnerstudio for VG.no x Ikea

Schibsted Partnerstudio's recent collaboration with IKEA saw them launch a content marketing campaign featured on VG.no. The goal was to inspire their audience towards creating a more organized and tidy living environment, reflecting IKEA's vision of enhancing everyday life at home.

An important KPI for this campaign was reader engagement, tracked through time spent reading. To maximize engagement, the team designed a personalized user experience that allowed readers to select their specific room for organization, and identify their living situation. This provided them with customized advice and solutions. After consuming the content for one room, users could click on buttons to read about different rooms, significantly increasing the time they spent engaged with the article.

Schibsted used “Interactions” in Vev to make the buttons and navigation work seamlessly. The design approach is intentionally playful yet structured, aligning with IKEA’s distinctive tone of voice. The readers are welcomed by dynamic animations that transition from a chaotic to orderly layout on scroll. This visual transformation emphasized the core message of organization and tidiness. The design uses vibrant colors to differentiate the article's sections, making the reading experience visually appealing while keeping the content organized and easy to navigate.

The results: Average scroll depth was 92 % (greatly surpassing the team's benchmark of 55 %). The average time spent on each article (i.e. each "room") was over two minutes, again surpassing the team's benchmark of 55 seconds. Many readers also chose to click on a new room when finishing their first pick, with that potentially doubling their time spent engaging with the article.

Livio Nerling

One of our favorite's this month for the creativity and artistic expression is this portfolio by Livio Nerling. Livio said of this project: "I wanted to create a personal portfolio that reflects the art I make within the design of the website itself. Vev was the perfect place to channel my creative energy through web design. Being able to directly implement my ideas in the website and and the option to use my self-cooked code blocks within Vev's clean no-code interface was very valuable to me."
