Each year, numerous media awards celebrate the uniqueness and creativity in the vast world of web content.

However, only a few truly stand out as authoritative. Among these awards are the "Global Media Awards" hosted by the International News Media Association (INMA) and the "Native Advertising Awards" by the Native Advertising Institute. Today, we’re extremely proud to showcase this year’s award-winning projects made with Vev and explore what made them truly shine.

1.“Have Your Penis Tried Sex Toys? If No, Why Not?” by Schibsted Partnerstudio

Schibsted Partnerstudio created a campaign landing page for Kondomeriet that took home the Gold award in the “Best Use of Text'' category at Native Advertising Awards. Sex-related topics can be seen as somewhat touchy, but this project used soft illustrations to make the subject matter much more approachable. Also, this project is a prime example of how brands are becoming more and more creative in utilizing storytelling in the e-commerce space. The use of illustrations, combined with storytelling, makes the topic less intimidating, drawing readers in with curiosity for the featured products.

2.“The Hacker” by Schibsted Partnerstudio

Earning the Silver award for “Best Use of Design” at the Native Advertising Awards, “The Hacker” by Schibsted Partnerstudio for Telenor tells the captivating story of Daniel Christensen, a self-taught 21 year old hacker who landed a job at Telenor after exposing a security flaw. The design uses a dark theme to emphasize the gravity of the topic—cybersecurity—with Telenor’s signature blue adding a branded touch. The project creatively employs “Glitch Text” for a tech-savvy vibe and features an immersive “Scrollytelling Video” that pulls you right into Daniel’s world.

3.“Maximize This Christmas” by Schibsted Partnerstudio

Awarded Bronze in the “Best Use of AFP Broadcast” category at the Native Advertising Awards, this project features a Pepsi Max branded TV show, with a landing page designed by Schibsted Partnerstudio. The page does an excellent job at presenting the campaign in a precise, yet funky style, featuring a few interactive elements that engage users.

4.“The Avalanche” by Amedia

Amedia and Nordlys won gold at the INMA Global Media Awards earlier this year. Their editorial piece excels in storytelling by immersing readers in the characters' emotional and physical journeys, using vivid descriptions and personal anecdotes to create a compelling narrative. Presented in two languages, the piece uses "Scrollytelling Video" and "Scrollytelling Image" components to enhance the depth and immersion of the story.

Finally, we want to give a huge shoutout to Mikaela Folkestad, the CEO of Schibsted Partnerstudio, for winning the Native Advertising Marketer of the Year award. Mikaela brought home three awards at the Native Advertising Awards, proving her vision and talent—and we believe she’s constantly pushing the envelope in how stories are told and marketed.

In the world of web content, real creativity stands out. Our award-winning projects this year show just how far storytelling and design can go. From making tough topics approachable with illustrations to diving deep into cybersecurity with immersive scrollytelling, these projects prove the endless possibilities of content marketing. We are so proud to have created these projects in Vev, that enables us to create stories that matters.
